Flocking Birds is designed to show you how just a few very simple rules about how moving objects interact can define very complex ways for them to interact.
When birds flock together, it appears that they follow four basic rules:
1- Don't get too close to your neighbour;
2- Don't get too far away from your neighbour;
3- Travel in the direction that is the average of the directions that your neighbours are heading;
4- Head towards the same point that the whole flock is going.
The sliders will let you control the weight that is given to these rules. (Plus some others, just for fun.)
HINT: The birds have their speed, or "velocity", set at zero. You might want to increase that!
